The award-winning Volvo XC90 has been boosted with a new R-Design edition which features a wide range of equipment and visual upgrades.

Volvo says this is the sportiest XC90 it has ever made and drivers can enjoy a seven seat SUV with impressive credentials.

Among the changes are 20-inch alloy wheels, a gloss black mesh grille as well as tinted rear windows.

Inside, the Volvo XC90 is even more comfortable and impressive with leather sports seats and a perforated leather trimmed steering wheel with shift paddles.

Along with the driver’s seat, the passenger also gets a powered seat with memory function and there’s also better interior lighting, black headlining and sports pedals to help set the Volvo XC90 R-Design apart from the other models in the range.

There’s also a 12.3 inch TFT screen for displaying driver’s information.

Volvo has also added its adjustable steering force and various drive mode settings as standard for the R-Design too which means drivers can vary the settings for the transmission, engine, steering as well as the optional air suspension.

The Volvo XC90 already has one of the best specifications in the carmaker’s range and other standard kit includes satnav, the firm’s CleanZone air quality system, a 9-inch touchscreen, LED headlights and a powered tailgate.

Safety equipment fitted as standard to the Volvo XC90 includes its city safety function which detects pedestrians and cyclists in front of the car as well as front collision warning which sees the vehicle braking to avoid a collision. There’s also lane departure warning, a wide variety of airbags and driver alert.

There’s plenty of space on board the Volvo XC90, even when there are seven people on board and the new equipment upgrades help it to stand out from the crowd.

It’s certainly a luxurious offering from Volvo with dynamic handling and excellent abilities.

The XC90 R-Design comes with a choice of the firm’s T6 petrol or the D5 diesel which offer decent economy and performance is also a petrol electric hybrid available in the T8 twin-engine guise.
