Upgrade offers Polestar performance for the Volvo XC90

The Volvo XC90 is one of the best SUVs available and now it’s going to get the option of Polestar performance upgrades.

The firm will boost the torque and power figures in the XC90’s T6 petrol Drive-E engines and the D5 diesel.

Owners who undertake the £835 upgrade will find that the midrev range will deliver more power.

This is the first time that Polestar, which is Volvo’s own performance brand, has paid attention to the new seven seater.

Quicker accelerator response for the Volvo XC90

The result will be a quicker accelerator response for the Volvo XC90 and the automatic gearbox settings will be altered to provide quicker gear changes.

These gear changes will be apparent when cornering at speed and the gearshift could unsettle the car; this will no longer happen.

The upgrade will see the vehicle responding quickly to the driver’s commands to ensure that the driving experience becomes more dynamic, particularly when driving at high speed.

Volvo XC90 is one of the best performing SUVs

That’s not to say that the vehicle is a slouch; the Volvo XC90 is one of the best performing SUVs available.

Now that Polestar and its racing drivers in Polestar Cyan Racing have got their hands on the vehicle, owners will undoubtedly benefit.

The polestar upgrade can be carried out at any Volvo dealership and takes around 30 minutes.

The results should be startling; for instance, in the D5 Drive-E, the engine will see its power boosted from 225 HP to 233 HP. In the T6 the engine power is boosted from 320 HP to 334 HP.

Other Volvo car owners can also enjoy the Polestar performance optimisations including for the V40, the V40 Cross Country and the S60, V60 and the XC60.
