There are two models, the entry-level Lexus RC F and the Lexus RC F Carbon, which will both feature a brand-new 5.0 litre V8 engine capable of producing 450bhp and has 520Nm of torque.

Both models have also been coupled to an eight speed automatic gearbox which has manual paddles fitted as standard and there’s also an active rear wing system installed.

Safety features for the Lexus RC F include powerful Brembo brakes, blind spot monitor, lane departure warning, and hill assist control.

There’s also a reversing camera, parking sensors and cruise control as well as keyless entry.

Lexus have also installed its vehicle dynamics integrated management system which allows the car to be driven in one of three modes to help ‘improve vehicle control and optimise traction’.

They car also comes with LED headlights with automatic high beam, dual zone climate control, and a touchscreen multimedia system which features satnav, DVD player and DAB radio.

Buyers opting for the Lexus RC F Carbon will find their vehicle has Alcantara upholstery, special alloy wheels, heated seats and a surround sound system.

Lexus have also used a lot of carbon fibre for the Carbon model, hence its name, so it has carbon fibre reinforced plastic for the bonnet, rear spoiler and roof to help keep the total weight of the vehicle as low as possible.

As usual with Lexus, there’s an impressive list of optional extras available including metallic paint, adaptive control and a very good pre-crash safety system package.

The Lexus RC F Carbon also has a world first by using torque vectoring differential in a front engine-rear wheel drive car. Owners will see the difference the vectoring system makes when cornering at high speed seems the power is delivered to the wheels that need it.

Indeed, the Lexus RC F will be the firm’s most powerful production V8 Coupe and looks set to be popular with those who like powerful and good performing cars.

Order books for the new car are open now and the Lexus RC F will cost £59,995 OTR while the Lexus RC F Carbon will cost £67,995.
