The all-new Audi R8 is the most powerful and fastest series production car in Audi’s history and it will reach our shores later this year.
Orders will be taken from May and prices for the Audi R8 V10, which has 540PS, will start at £119,500 OTR.
There’s also the Audi R8 V10 Plus available which has a power output of 610PS and will cost from £137,500 OTR.
For the money, drivers will get a superlative driving experience in a car that will go from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds – for the V10 Plus model.
Performance for the Audi R8
The car has a top speed of 205mph and will reach from 0 to 124 mph in just under 10 seconds. Its fuel economy on the combined cycle will be 24mpg.
The all-new Audi R8 is 50kg lighter than the car it replaces thanks to its ‘space frame’ construction which also sees the body rigidity increased by 40%.
Audi has also developed a new Quattro all-wheel-drive-system that comes with variable torque to help deliver greater control and handling in corners.
The new car also comes with a virtual cockpit, Audi connect and drive select as well as front and rear parking assist.

Other kit includes LED headlights which give increased brightness and a wider field of vision.
The vehicle was premiered at the Geneva Motor Show to great acclaim and Audi says the model will come with an exclusive 10 cylinder FSI engine with two power outputs.
Audi have fitted the R8 with 19 inch wheels and in the V10 Plus version they come with ceramic brake discs for improved stopping power.
Those opting for the more powerful car can also upgrade to 20 inch wheels.

For many, the driving experience will be incredible and the new flat bottomed steering wheel has all the necessary entertainment and information functions on it, including the select system and control buttons.
But that’s not all, since the steering wheel also has a button that will adjust the car’s sound-altering flaps on the exhaust system – which should help show off the 10 cylinder engine to its best effect.
In addition, the car comes with a variety of driving programs including wet, dry and snow which will see improved handling on these surfaces by using the vehicle’s electronic stability control function.
Despite the price, owners of the Audi R8 can also choose from an extensive list of options and demand will be strong for what is a head turning and impressive vehicle.
